Welcome to The University of Texas!
The Department of Asian Studies at The University of Texas at Austin is proud to offer courses, sponsor events, and promote research in Hindi and South Asian studies. For more than sixty years, students have taken beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses in Hindi. In addition to courses and events for UT students, we work closely with other university programs and community schools to promote the study of one of the major languages of India. Many of the resources available on this site originated in the erstwhile Hindi Urdu Flagship program, whose contributions we gratefully acknowledge.
